Editing for Emotion
The goal was to let the story breathe. I used long takes and slow pacing to immerse the audience in the environment. Every cut was motivated by the emotional beat of the interview, rather than just visual rhythm.
Sound Design & Atmosphere
Audio played a crucial role. I layered ambient nature sounds—wind, rustling leaves, and distant birds—to create a sense of place. The background score was kept minimal to ensure the dialogue remained the focal point.
Color Grading
Opted for a desaturated, naturalistic look with cold blue shadows and soft highlights to reflect the somber yet hopeful tone of the subject matter.
